Designed as a fast fire, fun and interactive opener at Think Spirits, The Dragons’ Cup puts ‘Pitchers’ in front of a panel of ‘Dragons’, with each pitcher having just five minutes to convince the dragons to ‘invest’ in a given spirits category.
Echoing TV’s popular Dragons’ Den format, but conducted at speed and in front of a live audience, the five Pitchers must persuade the Dragons that the spirit they are championing – Gin, Rum, Whisk(e)y, vodka and Tequila/Mezcal respectively – has what it takes to spearhead future engagement and sales growth in any spirits portfolio.
Our Dragons (experienced spirits buyers drawn from across the trade) will then have two minutes to question the pitchers (well-respected category ambassadors), before retiring to consider their verdict.
The audience will then be asked to vote on its favourite pitch before the Dragons return to deliver judgement of their own.
The results of The Dragons’ Cup, including both Dragon and audience winners and highlights from each Pitchers pitch, will appear in Harpers Wine & Spirit and Drinks Retailing News print editions and online.
The 'Think' events are indispensable for the trade. As well as offering a good choice of spirits, they are always informative, educational and totally relevant to today's UK drinks scene.
Extremely useful insight into many of the strategies now being used to broaden the category's appeal to more consumers.
Good opportunity for professional conversations and making contacts.
Think Rum is the only event solely focused on improving the perception of Rum as a category, and does this in a way that benefits trade and consumer.
A great event - a chance to meet and share ideas with like minded industry people. Looking forward to the next one!
A perfect networking opportunity!
